Meet the Builder

Are you interested in working with a professional team to renovate your home? Then you’ve come to the right place.

We want you to know there is so much more that goes into a renovation than simply knowledge of tools and the materials. It’s important that you have the right person overseeing the process from start to finish. That is why I am involved in every project we complete and is also why I’d like to take a moment to introduce myself to you.

My Up Bringing

I was blessed to have been raised by two wonderful and loving parents, Tammy and Wayne. They taught me to be a kind and loving person and that it takes hard work and determination to achieve the success that want from life. I spent many summers working for my Dad’s construction company or working along side my uncles and grandfathers, as they all work in their respective trades. I learned a lot from these men and I cherish the lessons I learned from all of them.

My Early Years

I decided to follow in my mother’s footsteps and become an accountant. I went to college, earned my degree and starting studying for my CPA license right away. It took a long, hard year of studying, but I was able to pass the exams and earned my designation as a CPA. All of those lesson from my parents about hard work had finally paid off.

I worked in public accounting for many years, I even had a small stint working for JP Morgan in their real estate investment group. I enjoyed the work that I was doing, but I knew my heart wasn’t in it. I spent most of my free-time working in my woodshop and trying to find projects that could utilize those carpentry skills that were fostered in my youth.

The Big Change

After a time of reflection, I knew that I needed a change. I left the job at JP Morgan and I decided to follow my passion of working with my hands again. At the time, I no projects lined up and I decided to try my hand at flipping houses. Over the next several years I worked with local trades men and women to renovate homes for buyers in my community. Settlement after settlement, the buyers would communicate the appreciation for the quality of the home and the thought that went into the design and construction. I remember one particular buyer actually asked for us to come back and build a new deck for her. That’s when I had the inspiration…

SB Builders Group

That’s when SB Builders Group was born. I took the same trade partners and my employees from the flipping business and created the company in January of 2020. I decided to add the “Group” to the company name because I wanted my employees to know that they are a part of the company. Without these brilliant and hard-working men and women, my company would not be the success that it is.

The Future

With the help and support of my wife, Sarah, we plan on growing the company into a place that allows our employees to grow and support their families and a place that makes our clients dreams come true.

Thank you for taking the time to read my story. I look forward to meeting you, and hopefully getting to know more about your story.

Thank you, Shane Braxton
